Feeling Lucky!

Today in Melrose the sun was shining and it was warmer outside than it was in - I don't know what temperature it got down to last night but it was downright COLD! The cold is wreaking havoc on my body, especially my legs - the spasticity is killer in my left leg. But they still work so I won't complain, I'll just take another baclofen and tramadol/ibuprofen and use my cane when needed. I'm feeling lucky tonight, lucky to have medications that help me live a better life, lucky to have family close enough that I can go visit, lucky to have my car back, lucky to have gas in it, lucky to be able to buy groceries to cook my family dinner and lucky my family comes to see me on the first wednesday of every month to eat bread and soup! I feel lucky indeed. Seems like I need to come up with some sort of "message" or - the word escapes me - but what should I blog about - politics, health care reform, my multiple sclerosis, I feel like I need to pick something, but I'm not sure how or what - guess I'll just keep rambling along for the time being. Just finished reading "Dreams of my Father" by president Obama - good read - really good - made me think about a lot of things - race - cultures - similarities, differences - hopes, dreams - fears - injustice - I think my next book is going to be that three tea cups - I think that is the title. About ordinary people doing extraordinary things - I feel the need to do something - but don't know what. Maybe get my teaching degree - wonder if I could? Stay tuned.
